Parish Church of San Lorenzo di Panico: we start our tour with one of the most interesting Romanesque buildings in the Bolognese Apennines. The building, built in the first half of the XII century, still retains most of its original structures. We could admire the interiors, the three splendid naves and the squared sandstone ashlars walls, the widely imitated Corinthian capitals and the apse with its precious architectural ornamentation.

Reno River: descending towards the valley, we will follow the Reno river, the most important river in Emilia-Romagna after the Po river. It rises in Tuscany, in the Pistoia province, and flows into the Adriatic Sea near Ravenna. The ancient Panico bridge and the suspended walkway, from which you can enjoy a splendid view, are really suggestive.

National Etruscan Museum “Pompeo Aria”: In its four exhibition rooms are preserved the most significant archaeological artifacts from the excavations of the ancient city of Kainua, the Etruscan Marzabotto, among which is the exceptional Greek marble head of Kouros and votive statues in bronze. We will continue our tour, visiting the external excavations and the extraordinary preservation of the urban design, in a suggestive path through the acropolis ruins and the eastern graveyard.

Lunch in a farmhouse: before continuing the tour, we will enjoy a relaxing break sitting at the table, tasting the homemade cuisine and the excellence of the Bolognese enogastronomic tradition in a farmhouse in the area.

Historical Park of Monte Sole: along an enchanting route surrounded by nature, among the countless plants species and a rich and diverse wildlife, we will reach this protected area, known for the tragic episodes of the autumn of 1944. Here, in fact, the Nazi troops slaughtered hundreds of defenseless civilians, erasing centuries of quiet and laborious life of local communities. A short walk will allow us to reach the summit of Monte Sole, where a memorial stone commemorates the Red Star Partisan Brigade that fought on these mountains.

Memorial to the Civilian Fallen of Marzabotto: erected in the early '60s, the Memorial hosts the spoils of about 800 civilians and partisans, mostly inhabitants of Marzabotto, Monzuno and Grizzana Morandi, victims of the Nazi massacre, and the spoils of about 400 soldiers. Particularly emblematic is the triptych in gold and bronze foil painted around the altar, which represents the war, the massacre and the partisan struggle.
